Robin Klaus

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Robin has more than 20 years of executive management experience in the industry. He was formerly Chairman of Planet Fitness, a health and fitness club company in Singapore, and served as President and Chief Operating Officer of fitness equipment manufacturer Star Trac. He is currently on the Board of Directors for SummerSearch, a national mentoring program for teenagers. Mr. Klaus holds a bachelor's in international relations from American University, a master's in international economics from University of Pittsburgh, and a master's in business administration from Stanford.

Bill McBride

Chief Operating Officer

Bill is a health club industry veteran who started his full time career in 1986. Bill is an internationally-recognized expert on the industry and on excellence in customer experience, presenting on four continents at major industry conventions IHRSA, IHRSA Institute, IHRSA Profitability Conference, IHRSA Asia-Pacific Forum, Club Industry, FILEX, Russian Fitness Festival, FIA). He has served on the IHRSA Board of Directors since 2009. Bill is originally from North Carolina and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from East Carolina University.

Carey White

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Carey White joined Club One in 2004. He is responsible for new product development, finance and accounting, infrastructure technology, and member services. Carey created the company’s new product development team and has multiple inventions while at Club One. With Larry Tobin, he invented the Habit Changer®, a behavioral change system working through email, text, and web to help users gain awareness and to guide them through change. He is the editor of the company’s “Losing Weight” programs and managed the development of the company’s “Feeding Your Kids” program, which has been used in 50 countries, for the Clinton Global Initiative. With Julie Price, Carey designed the company’s WellPower® member platform, and invented the Success Plan member-lifecycle system extending from the beginning of the sales process throughout the life of the member’s tenure with Club One. With Celeste DeVaneaux, he produced the Club One Island™, a virtual-reality behavior change environment on Second Life and a twelve-week behavior-change group course taking advantage of virtual world characteristics in learning. Carey has a BA from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard.

Robyn VanDerLuit

Vice President, Worksite Health and Fitness

Robyn VanDerLuit joined Club One in 1994 when the company had one corporate management contract. During the past 12 years with the organization, Ms. VanDerLuit has built a high performance management team and operational infrastructure to support and manage more than 70 corporate management contracts for the Worksite Health & Fitness division. She has extensive experience building, developing, and inspiring diverse employee groups to work at their maximum levels. Her previous experience includes working for Reebok, the 49er Charity Organization, and Club Corporation of America. Ms. VanDerLuit received a bachelor's from San Jose State University in business management/recreation.

Thomas Nelson

Vice President, Community Centers

Tom Nelson brings 15 years of management experience working with client partners in the areas of commercial, corporate, municipal, university, and community center health and fitness facilities and wellness programs. In his current role, Mr. Nelson oversees the membership & fitness operations, account management, and new business for Club One’s community center service and consulting contracts. Over the past 5+ years, Mr. Nelson has been integral in helping Club One build strong partnerships and developing best practices specific to operating successful community centers. Club One has thus emerged as the leading provider in community center fitness and membership management. He joined Club One in 1999 as a multi-state regional manager for Club One’s Worksite Health & Fitness division. Mr. Nelson holds his bachelor's and master's degrees in Kinesiology from San Jose State University.

Julie Price

Vice President, Digital Products

Julie Price is an expert in user experience, exergaming, & positive psychology. She designed and built Club One’s WellPower® member platform, the most sophisticated customer relationship system in the global fitness industry today. WellPower enriches the member’s experience and helps them achieve their goals from the beginning of the sales process throughout their tenure with Club One. Julie is currently building groundbreaking products which will allow Club One to help people anywhere in the world. Julie has over 10 years of experience in User Experience across multiple industries, most recently working for Fidelity Investments. Julie joined Club One directly after completing her MBA from Wharton, specializing in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management.

Celeste DeVaneaux

Creative Director, Club One Island

Celeste conceived, designed, and directed the creation of the Club One Island™, an intensive 12-week weight loss program delivered entirely in a virtual world. Participants in the Club One Island program show average weight loss greater than control groups in weight loss programs in the physical world. A graduate of the University of Washington’s Virtual World Program, Celeste brings 20 years experience in IT, quality assurance, process improvement, as well as complex systems problem resolution. Working in both public and private sectors Celeste couples an entrepreneurial spirit with strong technical and analytical skills to push past the traditional and examine what is possible.
